How accurate is a Toothbrush DNA Test?
The accuracy and reliability of a toothbrush DNA test depend on how long the toothbrush was used and how the sample was stored. Storing the toothbrush before air drying or placing it inside a Ziploc bag can degrade the sample.
Toothbrush samples that are well-preserved and not compromised have a 95% accuracy rate in producing results.
How long will it take to receive my results?
Result turnaround times are 2 to 3 business days from the date the lab receives all DNA samples.
Upon the completion of testing a copy of your results will be mailed to your home and an additional copy will be emailed to you.
Can my results be used for legal purposes?
No. Toothbrush samples cannot be used for legal purposes. Legal DNA tests require a chain of custody, meaning the sample must be collected by an independent DNA collector. The samples are then analyzed by our partner AABB-accredited lab.

Can a DNA test be done with a toothbrush in New Jersey?
