Refund Policy:
We value our clients and strive to provide quality service in every aspect of our DNA testing process. Below is our official refund policy to help you understand the terms under which refunds may be considered.
Refund Eligibility
- Cancellations Within 15 Days of Purchase
Refunds requested within 15 days of the original purchase date may be considered at the sole discretion of Paternity NJ. Approved refunds will be issued minus a $60 administration fee and any applicable credit card processing fees.
- Cancellations After 15 Days of Purchase: Refunds will not be issued for cancellations made 15 days or more after the purchase date, regardless of whether the test kit has been shipped or used.
Refund Requirements
Signed Cancellation Confirmation Letter
Before any refund can be processed, the client must sign and return a Paternity NJ Cancellation Confirmation Letter. This step is mandatory and non-negotiable.
Additional Conditions
Kit Already Shipped
If a cancellation occurs after a kit has already been shipped but before testing begins, refunds may still be considered at our discretion (if within the 15-day window). In such cases, shipping costs are non-refundable, and the refund will still be subject to the $60 administration and card processing fees.
- Kit Used or Testing Initiated
If the DNA testing process has begun, no refund will be issued, regardless of time elapsed or outcome of the test. - Incorrect Use of Shipping Provider
If a test kit is returned via an unauthorized shipping method (e.g., USPS instead of FedEx when a FedEx label is provided), additional fees may apply, and delays or loss in return shipping will be at the client’s risk. - Damaged or Incorrect Kits
If a DNA kit is received damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact our office immediately. We will replace the kit at no cost once we confirm the issue.
Non-Refundable Circumstances
- Unexpected or Undesirable Test Results
Refunds are not provided based on test outcomes. Our responsibility is to deliver accurate and timely results based on the provided samples, regardless of emotional or legal implications.
Orders Made in Error
If you mistakenly order the wrong test, shipping costs for the return or exchange are the client’s responsibility unless the error was made by Paternity NJ.
